It's not about the hard sell. It's not even about selling (at least, not outwardly). Good copy is bang-on-the-nose tone of voice and human-to-human connection. If a sale is like a laugh, copy done right is the perfect tickle. You barely notice it, you can't even explain it, but you're laughing your socks off and rolling uncontrollably round the floor.
